The Niger Delta Youth Congress (NDYC) is not mincing words when it comes to defending one of their own – Dr. Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defense. In a strongly-worded statement, the Congress condemned what they described as “distractors” seeking to undermine Matawalle’s ingenuity and effectiveness.
According to the NDYC, Matawalle has been nothing short of a rockstar in President Tinubu’s administration, tirelessly working to ensure the security and prosperity of the nation. And they’re not having any of the criticism aimed at the Minister.
“It’s regrettable that despite his laudable efforts, those who are selfishly seeking for the downfall of this administration are going after the minister because of his vocality and performance,” the statement reads.
The Congress firmly rejects these actions and is calling on all Nigerians to stand behind Matawalle as he continues to serve the country with distinction.
But the NDYC didn’t stop there. They also had a message for the “distractors” themselves: “We urge the distractors to desist from their divisive and inciting activities and join hands with the government in its quest to build a safer and more prosperous Nigeria.”
It’s a bold move from the Youth Congress, and it remains to be seen how this war of words will play out. One thing’s for sure – they’re not backing down when it comes to defending their man.
