The Niger Delta Youth Congress (NDYC) commends the Minister of State for Defense, Dr. Bello Matawalle, and the Nigerian Armed Forces for their remarkable achievements in securing the South-South region’s oil assets.
The successful destruction of 57 illegal refining sites, recovery of 1,442,700 liters of stolen crude oil, and 154,650 liters of illegally refined AGO are testaments to their unwavering commitment to protecting the nation’s resources.
The NDYC praises the exceptional gallantry and strategic prowess of the Nigerian Armed Forces in various intense engagements, resulting in the arrest of 11 perpetrators of oil theft and disruption of criminal networks. These achievements have prevented losses amounting to over N1.31 billion, showcasing the economic benefits of these operations.
Dr. Matawalle’s leadership has been instrumental in promoting peace and stability in the South-South region, and the NDYC urges all citizens to support the military’s efforts in combating oil theft and promoting national development. We recognize the sacrifices made by our troops and their families and pledge to continue advocating for their welfare and well-being.
